1,2,3 point orbital

When the discussion about the trickiest piercings each of had done came up in the IAM: Learning Piercing forum, where we mentioned the uvula piercing,  and Seth D. mentioned a 3 point orbital he had done. Well, that discussion had me feature a uvula piercing here, but I didn’t think to feature the orbital. Then I ran across it when perusing the galleries looking for possible features and damn was I impressed! Regular 2 point orbitals are a technical piercing, but this 3 point orbital is a master piece.

Just like Nazareth sang….

….Love Hurts.

It hurts even more when it is proclaimed with cigarette  burns.

On Modblog we feature some of the most amazing artistic scarification in the world. Yet, we often overlook the rarely updated ritual cutting and ritual branding galleries when looking for pictures to feature. In these galleries the scarification is rarely about the finished result and usually about the process.

For a picture of the process of this scar, keep on keeping on.

A tattoo worthy of wearing a v-neck tee

Seriously, I HATE v-neck shirts, but this tattoo may very well be able to justify the wearing one of those godforsaken things.

Adam’s “Mighty Throat Goat” was done by Zack Ross at No Surrender Studios in San Marcos,  TX.

PS: You may remember this piece was featured previously here, but it’s now finished with background and worthy of an update post.

For a straight on view, keep on keeping on.

When mathematicians and modifications meet.

This scarification piece on Svenna (who apparently  hates raccoons) is of Euler’s Identity, a mathematical equation known for it’s “mathematical beauty“. I read the wiki entry on it (twice) and I still have no clue what it means. In fact, I get a headache just thinking about it. Nonetheless, while I have minimal appreciation for mathematical beauty, I definitely can appreciate modified beauty and this scar is an excellent example of that.

This scar was done by modblog regular Brian Decker. He did the fill in with a hyfrecator as opposed to the more commonly used flesh removal technique. As you can see through the progressive pictures, the piece healed amazingly even. As an added bonus, according to Brian the hyfrecator method is also far quicker.

Brian is considering doing some work at the Philly Tattoo Convention, so if you are interested, hit him up on his IAM page or at purebodyarts.com.

About being a featured girl: This event is open to all BME Girls age 18 and over. Girls of all shapes, sizes and race are encouraged to submit pictures. Contestants can be dressed or nude, but nothing too pornographic will be featured. Pictures need to be of decent quality, lest the readers condemn me to hell for posting webcam shots. Agreeing to be involved is consenting to be featured in the calendar, if you are selected for it. If you want to suggest someone, feel free to do so. I will contact them and see if they are interested, but no one will be featured without their explicit approval. To submit pictures, please email them to [email protected] Make sure to include your IAM: name (or real name) in your email.

About voting: Votes will be tallied by emailing [email protected], just make the subject “Vote (insert name of girl you choose)” and your vote will be tallied.  Votes will be anonymous, there is no reason for anyone to know who voted for whom and how many votes each girl got.  Voting for one week ends when the following weeks post goes up. Please note, this isn’t about competition, it’s about a fun, interactive way to get the readers involved in the selection process.

About Commenting: I am enforcing a strict ZERO TOLERANCE policy for negative comments about the girls. They are being kind enough to share themselves with us and to help BME make a calendar, they should not have to fear public ridicule. Negative comments will be deleted, if we have a repeat offender, all of their future modblog comments will be sent to moderation. This isn’t about censorship, it’s about common courtesy and respect.

Check back next Friday for the next installment of the BME Girls Calendar feature. I will be back posting other features to modblog Monday, until then keep on keeping on.

PS: If you are wondering what’s going on with BME Boys Calendar, Lexci is currently in Hawaii with  very own BME Boy. When she get’s back to the mainland (and her computer) she will get a post up. Until then if you have any submissions for BME Boy Calendar, email them to [email protected] with “BME Boys Submission” as the subject and I will make sure she gets them.

Couples working together

Like Phil and his girlfriend Alie, they came to the agreement that if he ran every day she would draw every day. To see Alie’s commitment to  drawing every day check out her blog, I Hate To Draw. To see Phil’s commitment to running, you will need to stalk the street’s of Toronto one morning and look for Phil  yourself  (feel free to snap pictures and email them to me).

Another, and equally effective, way for a couple to work together is with a ball gag. One person speaks, the other submits. Makes perfect sense to me.

This tattoo by Alie sums it up best with the Latin phrase in the banner that translates to “Silence Implies Consent”.

I have seen lots of things…

…and I have done lots of things that would make a normal person curl up in the fetal position and require years of institutionalizing.

So in the rare moments when I come across something that makes me cringe a bit, I feel obliged to share it with you guys.

Some of Alicja‘s  performance acts she does with The Psycho Cyborgs definitely makes me wince a bit. I don’t know what it is about the “fingering of an open wound” but for some reason that does it for me every time.

When Alicja is not performing with the Psycho Cyborgs she can be found piercing at Self Sacrifice Tattoo in London,  which just moved to a new location making it the largest shop in all of London! It seems like just yesterday I was posting a uvula piercing and  commenting on the technical difficulties of it, and when perusing Ala’s portfolio noticed this (much trickier) front to back uvula piercing.

New Shirts back in Stock!

Check out four reprints added back to BMEshop Full runs in womens small to X-Large and mens small to 2XL.

http://shop.bmezine.com/product/virgin-unicorn/

Depending on the shirt/size, there could be as little as one print of that shirt. I’m working on getting some classic shirts redone like “In case of Emergency this bandage can be used as a shirt” by Jasonthe29th. As well as some totally new designs. Help support BME and buy some new shirts!

Are there any other things people would like to see available in the shop? More tshirts are always obvious but what about key chains? Baseball caps? toques? other accessories? Any ideas are appreciated!
