Gazing downward

I try to avoid posting heavily photoshopped images, but in the case of this photo, the photoshopping is what helps establish the tone of the image.  It also doesn’t distract from his piercings and tattoo which really stand out here.

This photo was uploaded anonymously to the piercing galleries, so if you know who the gentleman in the photo is, please speak up.

I love your smile

I’ll admit I started today on a bit of a downer, thankfully Kajika came through with a picture that cheered me right up.

There’s something infectious about a genuine smile.  As adults we often get lost in the shuffle of our daily lives to sit back and just enjoy a moment of happiness.  To wash away the pressures of work, bills, and relationships, and just relax and smile.  Find something, anything, to just be happy about.   Now I’m not saying this is easy to do.  Hell, most days it’s a chore to get out of bed for some of us, but take a minute and try today.

Heck, just looking at this picture brightens my day.  Smiles can be extremely infectious.  Ask anyone who has spent any time around an infant lately.  The second that baby smiles the room can light right up.  I was at dinner with some friends last week and one of my friends brought his daughter.  Now while we were all enjoying ourselves, catching up with each other, this little girl was just enjoying her crayons.  Nobody really took notice of her until she saw my arm and decided that if someone else had drawn on it, why couldn’t she?  The grin she gave while drawing on me was huge.  As I looked around, I could see everyone at the table slowly notice what was happening and one by one, they all started grinning from ear to ear.  All because this little girl was having the time of her life drawing on her uncle Rob’s hand.

So, I’m going to try an experiment.  Take a look at Kajika’s picture, and let me know, did she make you smile?

In case you wondering, the piercing she’s sporting on her lip is a horizontal lip piercing.

Oh and you can thank me later for getting that song stuck in your head.

Public Service Announcement

Attention; LOGMAN94

The inside of your philtrum, should NOT look like this.

Thanks, your friends at BMEzine.com

In all honesty, I imagine that LOGMAN94, was submitting this picture to show how bad it looked. However, since it didn’t mention anything about the piercing being problematic in the description and I couldn’t find him on IAM, I figure I best put this warning up………just in case.

To be

The title for this entry was the caption arkangel666 used with this photo. She looks a little sad to me but maybe she’s just contemplating life. No artist credit given for any of the mods however I think it’s worth just sitting back and appreciating the view in this case.

Beauty has her way

I’m not ashamed to say that when I came across this photo, this beautiful woman actually took my breath away. She is absolutely stunning. UndoingEverything has credited James of Body Electric Tattoo though she didn’t specify whether he did all of her piercings or something in particular in the photo.  Her piercings really work well and are very aesthetically pleasing.  I think this is a good example of body modification really enhancing someone’s appearance.  (I may also have a slight girl crush, it’s hard to say.)

Say, don’t I know you?

This photo was submitted to BME by IndecisiveWeirdo out of Sydney. She reminds me of an actress but I can’t quite figure out who and it’s driving me crazy. Fortunately, I don’t have far to go to get there!

Over the weekend I’ve added about 600 new photos to the BME galleries and 50+ videos. Go check them out! Remember, you can sign up for a profile that will allow you to view even more photos for free.

The curves of your lips rewrite history

Another 200 or so new photos have been added to BME so far today including this one. The piercings were done by Samantha Robles out of WAY Body Arts in Santa Cruz, California.

You’re looking at a healed 6ga philtrum. I’m not sure what gauge the nostrils are but I love the way these piercings compliment the face; especially the way the philtrum sits in the center of an exaggerated bow. I think this mouth was made for a philtrum, how about you?

Close up after the jump.

Liptril piercing?

Liptril is far from an official name, but when I saw this vertical labret that was pierced through a stretched labret, it instantly reminded me of  a septril piercing, and the word ‘liptril” popped into my head.

This creative piercing was done by Marea Vedge on her hubby Alan Vedge. As well as performing piercings this pair also runs Aesthetics custom jewelry company.

Venezuela in my sights

I love photography.  I especially love photographs of people.  One thing I would never do is edit someone else’s photography to make it fit my version of aesthetically pleasing.  As a photographer (albeit merely a hobbyist), I would be angry if someone edited or cropped one of my photos and I think it’s rude to alter photos submitted to BME, beyond the watermark we add, so finding photos that grab me, as is, is always wonderful.  The photos that I post are, for the most part, ones that are sent to me in a file of photo submissions to choose from and include any information that was also sent in when the person submitted them to BME.  Sadly, that often doesn’t include full credit to the artist or even give the name of the person submitting it but I include whatever information there is every time. I know in a previous post I was brought to task for not crediting an artist but if it’s not included in the submission, I have no way of knowing. So, dear reader, if you’re submitting photos to BME, please when possible, include all of that information because inquiring minds want to know (and it’s nice to give credit where credit is due)!

When I saw the following photo, which was submitted to the scalpelled lip section of BME, I knew I had to post it.  The only name I see as a credit is xemaxtomax and I can’t quite tell if that’s who submitted it, or who gets the credit for the scalpelled lip.  Either way, Venezuela is looking mighty lovely.

The symmetry of these piercings is really quite beautiful.  There’s another great shot of this handsome boy after the jump.
