New suspension book!

Great news, but first a big congratulations to Matt Larkin for the indie release of his first book. For the last few years he’s been shooting the folks from Rites of Passage using ambrotype photography (ie. wet plate, a 19th century technique that’s rare these days). Click on the pictures to jump to BMEshop where it’s available (and visit Matt on IAM if you’d like to see more pictures).

I’m eagerly watching my mailbox for my copy, I’ve been looking forward to this book for a long time now!

If you’re wondering what Steve did for his 30th, he wasn’t just sitting back enjoying others putting on a show — also photographed by Jeff, here’s a shot of Steve doing his second four-point wrist suspension. I wonder what the “official” name for a wrist suspension should be. It reminds me of an escape artist act…
