Guess What?

You know the drill.  I show you a cropped picture, you try to guess what it is.  So here goes..

I think this may be one of the more challenging ones I’ve posted, so good luck.  Once you’ve made your guess, keep on reading to see if you were right.

So this one was a bit of a trick image as it wasn’t of the final modification, but of the process involved.  Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, the beginnings of a head split.

The uploader of these photos sent in an entire series detailing all the steps that he took for the initial cut in his head split.  Here’s a couple more photos to show you how things progressed.

BME Hard subscribers can see the rest of the photos in the Head Splitting gallery.  They include shots from multiple angles, as well as some blood.  And who doesn’t like a little blood with their genital mods.

Robots in Disguise

“Autobots wage their battle to destroy the evil forces of the Deceptions”

I really want to get excited about a new Transformers movie, yet I know that it’ll just be a series of “BAYSPLOSIONS” with Shia shouting “nonononono” for 2 hours.  Thankfully artists like Keegan Lam are out there to remind us of the vastly superior animated series that kicked off a generation of children who at some point believed that cars could transform into giant robots.

The 8th Plague

According to the Old Testament, Egypt was visited by 10 plagues, the 8th being a plague of locusts.  This just goes to show what a bad reputation locusts have had for thousands of years.  Well thanks to this young lady and tattoo artist Keegan Lam (IAM: *chineedred*), this locust shows that not all of them are horrible.

Keegan works out of Forever Yonge Ink in Toronto, and you can see more of this tattoo in the miscellaneous tattoo gallery.

Feeling Cheeky

There’s something to be said for a girl with no other visible modifications other than a pair of cheek piercings.

From the looks of it SilyKim may only have a single ear piercing as well.  Regardless, cheek piercings like this are normally seen on people who have at least some other visible modifications, so it’s a rare treat to see them pulled off with a simple elegance like she does here.

GOOOOOOOAL

Over the years there have been a lot of takes on the “torn away flesh” tattoo.  I think this is the first one I’ve seen where a football club kit was used as the underlying layer.

For those wondering, that’s the shirt for Grêmio, a Brazilian football club based out of Porto Alegre.  The artist is credited as Mana Tattoo, from Scorpions Tattoo RS in Porto Alegre.

Who said Greek men are horny?

Well it turns out some of them are.  Greek artist Stefanos from Nico Tattoo Crew in Thessaloniki sent in these photos of some horn implants he upgraded. To start with, here’s the horns as they were before the increase in size.

Here they are after the first implant replacement.

And the finished product.

While these photos show you the size comparison, the photos in the 3D-implant gallery show you Stefanos doing the procedure.

One of these things is not like the other

Sure one of these nails isn’t like the other, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t belong.  It’s images like this one that I wish I had more to give you guys.  All I can tell you is that it was sent in by Mario Sanchez along with a number of other photos, most of which appear to be done with a single needle.  But back to the photo at hand.  By the looks of it, we’ve got a partial finger amputation that has been tattooed to appear as a normal finger.

This just goes to show you the range in which we get here at ModBlog.  Some weeks we’ll be looking at the cross section of a finger by someone who wants a portion of their body removed, while this week we have someone who has lost a portion of their body and is doing something to make it appear that it is still intact.

In any case, it makes a nice addition to the fingernail modification gallery.

Breaking away from the ordinary

Hi everyone, I’m back from my wilderness retreat and I come bearing gifts.  From the cold frigid air of St. Petersburg, Russia, the #Leeds suspension crew makes it a point to break away from the mold when it comes to suspension photography.  Now don’t ask me how this photo was obtained, as I have it on good authority that the last person to cross the #Leeds crew is still hanging from hooks somewhere in Siberia.

The ModBlog margins don’t do this photo justice at all.  There’s such a contrast between the calm expression on his face and the chaos of the cords shattering behind him, that the only way to appreciate it is by going to the #Leeds Suspension team gallery.

The yin and the yang, the hard ass and the sweetheart

Feet tattoos scare some people, not having them, but the act of getting them. Hand poked tattoos have that same effect. So when someone get’s a  hand poked foot tattoo, I think it’s safe to assume they are somewhat of a badass…….yet with the pink toenails all the sudden they seem sweet and approachable. So here’s a pair of bad ass, yet sweet and approachable feet tattooed by  Biran Wood of Self Made Studio in Asheboro, NC.
