Another day, another beauty

It seems like this week has been pretty good for BMEGirl submissions so let’s have another one today.  Pincusion Princess here always manages to send in fantastic pictures and this week she sent in quite a few.  Below are just two of the ones you can find in the BMEGirls Gallery.

To see the other one, you’re going to have to do some clicking…

Here’s the rundown on some of her modifications.

Tattoos by Ryan Bolton, hand implant by Steve Truitt, and her piercings are from her lucky husband, Dominick269.

As an extra little treat, check out her four month old ear implants that were put in by Dom.

When it comes to scarification pieces, sometimes a detailed cutting isn’t what the person being scarred wants.  Sickpuppie here had his scars done by Kelly D, which fit nicely with his series of five microdermals.  Asymmetrical pieces such as this always evoke reactions from people, either positive or negative, simply because the human brain is wired to look for symmetry.  Combining the asymmetry with a minimalistic design really makes this project stand out as something fairly unique.

It also looks like one of his nipple piercings is diagonal while the other is horizontal.  You can see more scars, both minimal and elaborate in the scarification galleries.

Some good friends of ours are teaching a microdermal seminar at the upcoming Philly Tatttoo Arts Convention, for information on this, keep on keeping on.

These seminars will be taking place on Saturday February 5th 12 PM . If you pay online it will cost $125. This deal will be available up until ONE WEEK before the scheduled seminar. Otherwise it will cost $150. To purchase online email john durante at [email protected] or Steve Truitt at [email protected]

This class will answer a lot of questions you may have about microdermal anchor piercings.

1. What is a microdermal?
2. What should they be called/how should they be described to potential clients?
3. What are they made out of?
4. What designs and sizes are there and which are the best and where do I get them from?
5. Where can you put them?
6. How do they work?
7. How do you put them in?
8. What tools do you use to aid in insertion?
9. How long do they take to heal?
10. How should you take care of them?
11. How do you take them out?
12. What do I do if I’m having a problem with one?

And many more. We will show you how to put them in using videos, photographs, and live demonstrations. We will show you both the punch and taper and needle versions. Everyone will have plenty of time to ask questions before, during, and after the seminar, and we will give you our contact information so you can reach us later if you have any other questions that come up after the seminar is over. sponsored by:

Friday BMEGirl? That’s Unpossible!

Well with last week’s unexpected downtime I wasn’t able to get a BMEGirl post out on Friday.  This week everything is back up and running smoothly so that means it’s the return of the BMEGirl!

This week’s girl is Luckytcha from Japan who’s photos I discovered in the old school tattoo gallery.

There’s another photo of her, but you’ll have to keep reading to check it out.

This second photo comes from the microdermal and corset piercing galleries.  The piercer for the second photo is Samppa Von Cyborg.

66, 67, 68, 69, 70…

When it comes to microdermal projects, especially big ones, there is always the question of longevity.  This came up recently when Sames sent in a photo of his “anti-wedding ring“.  Granted in that case it was in a high traffic area, but the same concerns apply whenever we see a large collection of microdermals in one area.  Well, Sames is back, and this time he’s showing off his 70+ microdermal chest piece that has been in place for over a year and a half.

I counted just shy of 70, but there may be a couple we’re not seeing so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.  In any case, this is an impressive project considering how long the jewelry as been in place.  Credit for the piercings goes to Craig Kelley from Couture Tattoo Co. in Canton, OH.  After seeing this, I’d say he could easily be called the hero of Canton.

She’d sigh like Twig the Wonder kid and turn her face away

When I first read the description for this first photo I was confused.  For some reason I read “sub-clavical piercings” but I couldn’t see them.  Then I re-read it and realized what it was that caught my attention in the first place, her 3D implants.  For some people the look of collar bones can be big turn on, and in Ratcaver’s case, she now has two sets.  Her own, as well as her implants.  They’re a little tricky to see in the first photo, but are very well defined in the second one.   I’ve also included a third photo after the break that she sent in from before she had the implants done. Obviously Ratcaver is a Bowie fan, as she’s recreated the cover for Aladdin Sane in this first photo.  You can also see some of her other piercings.  All of them and the implants, with the exception of her lobes were done  by Jeffery from Paradigm Bodyart in Arnhem, The Netherlands.

The second photo is a self portrait that evokes the image of Bond Girl Shirley Eaton from Goldfinger.  With the change in lighting you can see the implants much more clearly.

There’s one more image taken before the implants were inserted, but you’ll have to keep reading to check it out.

In the last photo we get a good look at her chest microdermals as well as her nipple piercings.

Thanks again to Ratcaver for sending in these photos, and providing us with another Friday BMEGirl.

Leaf subsides to leaf

Fall is slipping away and winter looms like a monster in the shadows (I really hate winter). Seeeingred sent in this photo and on this grey, cold day on the North Shore, it made me smile. It’s so tranquil I really kind of want to be there with him.

His piercings (can you spot the microdermal?) were done by Dorian Vilify and the tattoos by Evan Oslund of Custom Ink & Steel in Flint, Michigan. Sometimes it’s nice to just admire the view. P.S. I don’t mean the trees!

The inner eye at rest

Taking a look at how relaxed ThunderKat79 looks in this photo, its hard to believe that she just had her inner eye microdermal put in.  Looking at the second photo and seeing how she positioned the piercing to become part of her OM symbol, makes me believe that she was probably meditating the entire time it was being done.  With meditation, one can reach a type of clarity of the mind, opening up their inner eye to take in all the world around them.  To a lot of people piercings can help them achieve this state, as we see with many play piercing sessions.  The ties between spirituality and modifications run deep in many cultures around the world, and the two have been linked together since the earliest recorded histories.  So in today’s modern world, it isn’t surprising at all to see the practices linked in this way, as it reaffirms just how much a role modification plays in the lives of the people in the modified community.

No matter what her reasons for getting the piercing is, we can all agree that she looks very happy with the results, and that’s really what matters most.

Not ready for marriage?

Previously on ModBlog you’ve seen many different types of marriage related modifications.  From someone proposing during a pull, to matching tattoo wedding bands, the institution of marriage is celebrated in may different ways.

Well what about those who don’t want to get married, or are maybe just not ready to?  Well thanks to BME member Sames, there is now a way to show the world you’re not ready to get married just yet.  From the microdermal gallery comes the “Anti-Wedding Ring”.  A series a microdermals guaranteed to prevent any engagement ring or wedding band from being fully placed on the finger.  Sure, you can get the ring over just the tip, but there’s no way a ring is going to make it to the base of the finger.
