BME Updated

Just posted 1,193 new images and 54 experiences. Thanks to Phil for processing the images and to SailorAttack for being on the cover. There are about 2000 emails in the queue and those will be caught up as quickly as possible. This image/experience update has been like a mine field. Every step forward sets something else off. The problems appear to have been sorted out and another 1000+ image update should be coming shortly. I’ll be going back to a daily update schedule, as long as the amount of submissions demand it. I’m still trying to figure out where submissions are being diverted to as there appears to be an issue with downloading them.

Recent TOS complaints have been going to an unknown abyss so please forward any TOS complaints you have to [email protected]. In the next couple of days I’m going to run through and remove all of the dead accounts (expired accounts that have not been logged into for more than a year). Deceased members generally have their accounts set to free and are not considered “expired”.

If you haven’t noticed, anyone who emailed for the last 7+ years about typos on the main page of IAM, can rest now they’ve finally been fixed. (Please NOTE this is NOT your BME password.) If anyone finds more things that need to be cleaned up, please email me at [email protected]. The next month is going to be dedicated to cleaning up this mess until we can move forward on integrating the new update management system. It will be very cool. If you’re a nerd, who is into managing tons of data.

Talent Search

I get so many of these, they all sound the same which is why I’m guessing it’s the same film company who hasn’t found the right person to host. Personally I think Ron Garza would be perfect for this role.

Wide Eyes

Singer is no stranger to Modblog but that doesn’t stop him from making it again.

“Today I sewed my lips to a jennings gag. It was my first time using sutures which was a little tricky getting the hang of. After the first one it got easier. I never thought that I had big lips until I was trying to push those needles through and the skin on the inside of my lips stretched like a 1/4″ before letting the needle poke through. It looked pretty silly… “

ModProm III – Details!

It is with great pleasure that I am able to announce the triumphant return of BME‘s ModProm! Everybody’s favorite excuse to break out the seersucker and classy it up for one special evening is back for another year, this time in one of downtown Toronto’s premier party establishment, The Berkeley Field House.

Make no mistake, though — this isn’t just a night to play dress-up. This is a real prom, complete with tearful, mascara-smearing exchanges in the ladies’ room, awards (at the moment, the superdelegates are split 50/50 on Prom King) and the chaperonage nonpareil of renowned family man Bob Saget! (No, we haven’t seen the Aristocrats, why do you ask?) As if that’s not enough, you can also look forward to delicious food, an open bar and, above all else, a night with friends and family that will be impossible to forget.

Check this page frequently for new information! Until then, pop your zits, buy a corsage and prepare for June 28, 2008! The war is over — tonight, we dance, prom-style!

11th Annual NYC Tattoo Convention

I’m excited to be hitting the 11th Annual NYC Tattoo Convention this weekend in NYC. I know I’ll see tons of “awesome” tattoos, but I can’t wait to see some of my favorite artists like Dan DiMattia and Chris O’Donnell (who I have had a crush on for years! Shhh don’t tell!). Catching up with old friends alone is worth the trip. I’ve even heard whispers that Cere is getting some kind of “Life Time Achievement Award”.

I’m bringing my camera along to take some pictures since the last convention I went to was Buenos Aires and before that, Montreal. I won’t have a booth at the NYC convention (hell, they won’t even give me a press pass!) but if you see me, be sure to say hello!

BMEfest 2008

Save the date — BMEfest is back! We’re thrilled to announce a three-day extravaganza, running from June 27-29, starting with an exclusive Friday night party at one of Toronto’s finest nightclubs, the exact location of which will be announced as soon as humanly possible.

You heard it right, friends. Gas up the jet, plug in the electric car, grease up the wheels on your little red wagon, start doing thumb stretches and reread The Hitchhiker’s Guide … whatever it takes to get your collective asses to Toronto for BME’s annual BMEfest.

Now, we hear you asking, “Well, that’s fine and good, but what does a BME party at a nightclub have to offer that a night drinking dandelion whiskey with my cousin Mose and playing Warhammer doesn’t?” And to that we say, nothing … unless you happen to be a fan of awesome music, VIP access (because who stands in lines anymore?) and dancing your ass off with a few hundred of your closest friends — not to mention a few surprises we don’t want to spoil quite yet.

Vague? Maybe a little. But check this page often, as we’ll be announcing more and more details frequently. Until then, shine your shoes, buy a silver shirt and prepare for June 27, 2008! The war is over — tonight, we dance!

Downtime?

It appears there was an issue with connectivity for some readers of Modblog. After a quick restart, everything appears to be fine. For example, I wasn’t able to get to Modblog but a second computer on my network was.

If you ever have any issues visiting any of our sites, please email [email protected] to let us know as soon as possible.

And now back to your regularly scheduled ModBlog!

Glenna the Glorious

In this particular order!

Hello, my name is Glenna Thomas, I thrive in Atlanta, Georgia. I’m 23 and here are some of my photos from the past two years or so. Enjoy!

Me (Glenna Thomas) and Puck Allen (piercer at Easy St. Tattoo in Atlanta) doing a chest pull with Psychotic suspension October the 20th of this year.

Labret, bridge and septum done originally by Gigi of Kolo Body Arts Inc., also in Atlanta.

Me attached to Spiral’s (of Psychotic Suspension) back.

Me doing my first chest pull one year ago with Psychotic Suspension.

Seventy play piercing needles in my back in the shape of wings, done by Max Brand of All Or Nothing Tattoo, Atlanta.

And finally, a fresh set of hooks for the October 20th show I mentioned above.
