East Coast repping

Ok, I have no idea what that title really means but I was kind of excited to see a submission to BME from my neck of the woods, even if it does make me want to curl into the fetal position and cry. I kid, I have much love for Captain Spaulding. The photo was submitted anonymously but it was inked by Lil’ Dave of Peep Show in Oromocto, New Brunswick. That’s Canada yo! Fun fact. I once got into a car accident (totaled the car, taken to hospital by ambulance) on my way to a tattoo appointment with Lil’ Dave. I never did get that tattoo…

These are just a few of my favourite things!

This tattoo really speaks to me.  I have to say it gave me a little chuckle when I came across it.  I’ve been sewing for just over a year now and it’s one of my favourite things to do.  A sad, little known fact about me, lately I’ve been making myself guacamole every Friday night.  So this tattoo, combining sewing notions and avacados just makes me smile.  I can only assume these two things hold a similar allure for Tea_Leaves, who submitted the photo.  The ink was done by Justin Buduo out of Piercing Emporium in Worcester, Mass.

Now THIS is commitment

Nothing says commitment (or often times bad idea) more  than tattooing your lover’s name upon your flesh and if you are going to mark your flesh with your lover’s name, why not take it up a notch and make a REAL statement?

I am sure most of you clever modbloggers can guess what comes after the break, but don’t fret! There’s more than just wang, there is more tattoo dedication as well!

Goodbye to you my trusted friend

I saw this tattoo submitted by April_Eileen and knew I had to post it.  While I’m certain this is a memorial tattoo it seemed fitting since my best friend moved away yesterday.  I’ve been feeling pretty sad and this tattoo summed up how I feel quite well.  Luckily, my best friend is only a 3 hour drive away so I will see her, just nowhere near as often.  I can certainly relate to the sentiment of permanent goodbyes as well.  The tattoo was inked by AJ Pell in Fredericksburg, VA.

I have to say, the lettering on this tattoo is fabulous.  I love the soft colour and the watery look of it.  Perfect choice.

Everywhere I turn all the beauty just keeps shaking me

It’s been several years since I was in Israel but after viewing the massive amount of photos submitted to BME by Kipod Tattoo Studio in Tel Aviv, I have to say, I hope I get back there! And to Michael, just one of the talented tattooists at this studio, I say this, you’re on notice buddy! If I get back to Israel, I’m coming to see you!

One more after the jump, just because.

Piercing guns are bad, but machine guns are awesome!

Every year a few hundred piercers, and nearly as many piercees and body mod fans in general venture into Las Vegas Nevada for the annual Associations of Professional Piercers convention. Of those few hundred people, every year a few dozen of them go to the gun range to shoot various machine guns, high caliber pistols and other assorted bits of explosive awesomeness. This picture, courtesy of Robin captures one such group who made that venture this year.

The mystical scar

I’m always amazed at the variety of scarification work out there. While the thought of actually getting any done myself is absolutely terrifying, I am often in awe of the work I see on others. Benbodhi’s piece is no exception. He got this work done at the 2nd Sydney Expo and I’m assuming it was done by multiple artists as he lists lunacobra.net, joeltron.com and bslice.com under the artist credit.

Congrats Grads!

This picture and accompanying note came to use from Stacey, let it be a heart congrats to all graduates from us humble modblog authors.

class_2010

Tis the season of college graduations, this pic represents my own personal accomplishment of receiving my Bachelors degree in Music Business/Management, but I’d like to send out a big congrats to my fellow graduates for whatever field they have completed, whether you’re a marine biologist, just finished your piercing apprenticeship, or any other of the millions of fields one can go into. I thought it would be nice for BME to recognize personal accomplishments of those who face discrimination for their mods yet pursue their dreams. Congrats all!!!!

Say, don’t I know you?

This photo was submitted to BME by IndecisiveWeirdo out of Sydney. She reminds me of an actress but I can’t quite figure out who and it’s driving me crazy. Fortunately, I don’t have far to go to get there!

Over the weekend I’ve added about 600 new photos to the BME galleries and 50+ videos. Go check them out! Remember, you can sign up for a profile that will allow you to view even more photos for free.

Adventures in childbirth

This had been sitting in my inbox a while and somehow got overlooked. Anyhow, better late than never right? Congrats guys!

We had planned on having an at home assisted delivery with our Midwife Meg, but our son had other plans. The time between the water breaking and his actually delivery was less than a minute and a half. Basically she pushed and I caught..lol we made our call to 911 and I tied and cut the cord myself. A little later emts arrived and wanted us to go to the hospital , which was completely contrary to what we had planned. so we waited on the midwife to show. Our son Wyatt Danger Ross was born at about 11:30 at night with no complications and is healthy and doing fine. in waterloo ny these are pics of myself (iam dtm) and my wife (iam bribri) with our daughter Rowen lily .  On March 11th we actually delivered our son ourselves.
