Transforming Suspension

Transitioning during a suspension is nothing new.  We’ve seen numerous transitions like a lotus to a suicide or a coma to knees.  This is something different.  What Supa and the Kaptive8 Krew have done here is pretty amazing.  Instead of it being a transition that involves shifting the rigging from hook to hook, or cutting down the line, Supa is “transforming” while maintaining the same 5 points.  Here’s a look at 3 of the 7 positions that he went through.

You can see more in the Kaptive8 Suspension Krew portfolio gallery.

Racing Shoes

One of the great things about the BME community is that it’s always willing to help out.  IAM:Shoe is a perfect example of that.  Even though she’s never ran a race in her life, she’s going to be running in the Race for Life cancer run in Bournemouth in a couple of weeks.  Here’s what she has to say.

Hi guys!

I’m running the race for life this year for cancer research; I’ve never ran for ANYTHING before (except maybe the bus) but I think its about time i started 🙂

I have many friends whose lives have been affected by cancer and I am lucky enough to have family members who have survived it; So it makes sense to me to give a little bit back to cancer research, whose work enables so many people to overcome the disease.

If like me you, your life has been affected by cancer, do what you can for this worthwhile charity whilst saving yourself the effort of actually running 😉 – sponsor me to run 5k on the 17th of June.

I desperately need more sponsorship – currently I can only accept UK donations through the sponsorship page but people can also donate via paypal to [email protected] anything anyone gives would be gratefully received, if you tick gift aid (uk only) they donate the tax too. many thanks! shoe 🙂

If you recall, back in May IAM: Nexizydrate also ran in a Race for Life run, and with the help of readers she was able to surpass her goal.  So hopefully we’ll be able to help another person reach their goal.

And in case you forgot what Shoe looks like, she was nice enough to send along a photo.

Here’s something you don’t see every day

It seems like IAM: .Trevor. is on a roll with the ModBlog posts.  Yesterday we saw a couple of his corsets, and today we’ve got an interesting little ear project involving a small surface bar.

Encircled by the Flight of a Bird

Fans of artist Joan Miro will recognize this instantly.  Jamie from Tattoo Temple in Hong Kong has reproduced Miro’s “Woman Encircled by the Flight of a Bird” on this young man’s forearm.  By taking a look at the original, it’s safe to say Jamie definitely faithfully reproduced the painting even with the change in medium.

Riding the Ran Tram

Ran Maclurkin recently spent a few hours working on Joeltron‘s ribs at First Blood in Sydney.  The result is this mighty piece of abstract goodness.

It was almost a year ago to the day when Ran was in a terrible motorcycle accident.  Ran’s a good friend to BME and it’s great to see him back at work, doing what he loves to do.

They grow up so fast

About six years ago Shannon shared with you the story of Nadia, IAM: Spirytus’ daughter who, at the time, was six years old.  What was special at the time was that Nadia had just tattooed her dad.

Well, Nadia is 12 now, and she’s still at it.  She even has a small group of clients who are lined up for more work from her.  Her most recent piece was also on her father, which you can see below.

Now six years ago, when the story was first posted.  It was reblogged on a Christian parenting blog, which led to a pretty heated argument between members of their community and ours.  Keep in mind that her father is a tattoo artist, oversees all of her work, and it is all done in a studio.  Specifically Never Say Die in London, England.

It looks like she’s finally grown into those gloves.
