Art!

Phil recently received an interesting (and unsolicited) review from a publishing agent in San Francisco, he assumed it was a sales pitch but she had this to say about his work:

“To say that I was shocked by the pictures you posted on your website (details courtesy of Lightstalkers) is an understatement. However, I must appreciate the fact that your pictures depicting the limits of the flesh are one-of-a-kind, and that they deserve to be preserved in the form of a book.”

If you are interested in seeing his work he has an opening at Blackline Studio as part of their one year anniversary party on June 22nd. There will be more details posted on their site soon. The show will also run until the middle of July so if you are in town for BMEfest I recommend you check it out!

Also, check out his personal site (PhilipBarbosa.com) if you’d like to see the show in miniature on your monitor.

Want Ink?

If you want to get tattooed whilst you are in town for BMEfest I recommend you check out Rev. Matt Ellis for really nice custom tattoo work! Matt has tattooed some of the BMEstaff and a lot of our friends as well. I have confirmed with Matt that he does do genital tattoos so if you fancy adding a little colour to your fiddly bits he will be happy to accommodate you*.

Here’s a small selection of his work..

*Genital tattoos are $400 Minimum with a 50% deposit required at the time of booking.

Updos by Kim

Jedi Kim – Hair stylist to the modified (including some of the BME staff).

So, ladies, if you want to look super gorgeous for ModProm II you can contact Kim and she will do your hair in the comfort of your hotel room.

Cost: $50 minimum on all styles (a quote will be provided in the online/email consultation). You must send Kim a photo of current hair and example of what you want, a 50% deposit required is up front before the appointment can be confirmed.

Before: Don’t was your hair for 24 hours before the appointment. Updos work better on naturally dirty hair and I don’t want to be fighting squeaky clean hair, nor blow-drying hair for half an hour. Updos can take up to an hour if the hair is clean, so please do not wash your hair!

Accessories: Any hair accessories must be purchased ahead of time and brought to the appointment (clips, barrettes, flowers, et cetera).

Please allow enough time for your style, as I am human not a machine.

Please wear a button down shirt/robe/tank top for your hair session so that you may change clothes easily.

Tipping is appreciated.

Hair appointments will be on July 1st between 2 and 6pm (last booking 5pm).

I will take up to six people, but no less than three. If there is not enough need, I reserve the right to cancel.

I am currently waiting on confirmation of a second stylist that will be able to fill another six appointments.

MODBLOG4LIFE

OK, it’s not really mod-content I know, but Simon sent me these night writings he did (as in taking a picture at night with an extended exposure and running around with a light) that I thought turned out really well and I wanted to share them here. I don’t think I’d be able to get the writing that consistent.
