Having your heart on your mind

The last time we saw ThundaKat79 she had just gotten her third eye microdermal put in.  Since then, she’s added a new type of modification to her extensive collection, a subdermal implant of a heart on her forehead.  With the vast array of visible modifications she has, this new one fits right in.  Now the photo was taken soon after it was put in, so hopefully she’ll continue to send in photos of it as it heals up.

The Warm-up

We’ve seen Adhara doing a bit of dancing before, but it seems that wherever she goes she’s got a great photographer following her every move.  And can you blame them?  You get a beautiful girl like Adhara dancing with a giant sword, and people are bound to take notice.

You can check out more photos of Adhara in the labret and earlobe galleries, and you can also check out the sword dance in the video below.

The Crack-up

There’s always a first for everything, and while ModBlog has seen the occasional anal piercing, Snake1976 has taken it to a whole new level.  You’ll have to use the clickthrough to see the unedited image.

Now, we’ve seen scrotal ladders before, but they normally stop at the end of the scrotum.  Not so in this case.  He’s managed to continue the chain up into his anus.

Honestly, there’s a couple of piercings in there that I didn’t even know could be done successfully.

The Cover-up

The interesting thing about tattoo cover-ups is how the artist chooses to use the space that is being covered.  It also depends on what the client wants as well.  Ideally the end result will be that the original tattoo is no longer visible, and for the most part that happens.  But what about that transition period?  The time when the cover-up starts, to when it is finished.  For large pieces with multiple sessions, this period could last weeks, if not months.  While this is going on something unique is formed, a blending of the two tattoos, where the old and new combine to make something uniquely beautiful.

An perfect example of this beauty is Siren’s chest piece.  With just the black outline and some shading done on the new skull tattoo, the bright colors of the old can be seen through the lines, resulting in a stunning image of a piece of art in transition.

The Follow-up

This Friday Tuesday Follow-up is going to be the last one of the year, and since I’ll be on my way to the BME New Year’s Eve party on Friday, I thought I should get it to you guys and gals as soon as possible.

This week’s scar was sent in by the lovely Miss V.  At last year’s Philly Tattoo Convention, Brian sat down to carve out these honeysuckles onto V’s back.  Here’s what it looked like back then.

To see how it looks today, you know what to do.

And yes, she had just stepped out of the shower to take that picture.  Taking a look at V’s scar gallery on her IAM page, this isn’t the only scar she has that has healed beautifully.  In fact, this isn’t the only scar she has that Brian has done.  You can check out more in his BME scar portfolio.

The Doktor is in

When it comes to comic book tattoos, the majority of them are created in the likeness of comic book characters.  Portraits, logos, etc.  It’s not too often we see someone get a tattoo that a comic book character has, which probably has to do with there not being too many tattooed comic book characters.  Well, Warren Ellis isn’t one to stick to convention, and his Doktor Sleepless character sports a bright green grinder tattoo on his back.  Now while Combatcow’s grinder isn’t green, it is a faithful recreation of Ivan Rodriguez’ artwork.

The optical illusion part of the tattoo is pretty awesome.  Sit back and look around the picture.  You should see the gears moving around on their own.

Paging Jeff Winger

Maybe I’ve been watching too much Community, but when I first saw this picture of Reuss I could have sworn he was Joel McHale.

Of course, taking a closer look, it’s obvious he’s not.  If anything, he makes a better looking BMEBoy than Joel would.  As for what’s on his chest, it’s lettering celebrating his acceptance at a major juried art exhibition, and his dedication to art.  It was done by Jarl from Syndicate Tattoo in Denmark.

They’re getting hitched!

I heard on the radio last week that christmas eve is the #1 day of the year for wedding proposals.  Sure enough, this christmas that held true and a couple of IAM members got engaged.  Now, you’ve seen Dirk and JackeeLynn on here before, most recently in their christmas photos.  Now if you don’t know these two, not only do they send in a lot of photos to BME, but they’re also part of the Local Hookers suspension crew.  Here’s a couple of photos from their last halloween bash.  (You can find a lot more in the Local Hookers gallery).

Here’s Dirk enjoying a beer after lifting a cinderblock by his neck.  He also happens to be taking a beating from some lightbulbs.

As for Jackee, she spent the night hanging out with another Local Hooker, Inhale-Exhale.

Of course the best part of getting engaged is the story behind it.  Now I wasn’t there, but from what I understand Dirk surprised her with the ring and something else in a box…

Congrats you two!  When do I get my invitation?

Socks and Underwear

For a lot of people, the holidays are nearly over.  In another week the kids will be back to school, and a number of us will be nursing some major new year hangovers.  But that’s all still a week away.  Let’s take a quick look back at this past weekend where those ModBlog readers who celebrate christmas in some form woke up to find presents under the tree from old St. Nick.  Did you get anything noteworthy?  Or was this year just a socks and underwear kind of year?

For Kwzl, it looks like he got some new underoos this year.

Of course, with this being ModBlog, you’re probably wondering what the other side looks like.  Or hey, you may even want to know what’s underneath.

Keep reading if you’re curious.

So here he is from the back..

And here’s what he’s hiding underneath.

You can check out more images in the BME Hard gallery.
