Damn Snow!

Well thanks to the DC area snowstorm, we got somewhere around 32″ of snow, which is enough to stop everything in my region of the country.  So if you guys were wondering why there was only one Modblog update Friday, or why there was no BME Girls Calendar entry, the fact the snowstorm killed my  intranet at home is why.

I am back at work today, using the internet here, but most likely I will be snowed in (and possibly with out internet)  tomorrow and the next few days, as we are expecting another foot or so of snow to pile on.

Anyhow, I searched BME high and low for a submission that could possibly sum up how I feel about the snow and the impact it has had on my life recently.  I think I found it, this tattoo may not be amazing, and normally I would probably overlook it for posting to Modblog, but today it just speaks to me.

Another snowman tattoo that speaks to me was already posted, but in case you missed it, or weren’t a reader in 2007, check it out!

Don’t fret Modbloggers, I will be back with a few more post today, including the BME Girls Calendar entry. Hopefully, even if I am stuck at home, my intranet should be working and I can continue posting. If not, I will see you  guys when it warms up, maybe around April?

BME meets FHM

After yesterdays post of a BME Girl on British tv, I come across this picture from MIss Duveaux from a 6 page spread that was shot for FHM (For Him Magazine) Holland. It’s great to see a beautiful modified girl getting some love from mainstream media and not getting teased like KissItGoodbye was in my last post.

Miss Deveaux had this to say about the experience on her IAM diary entry about it:

Not only was I featured in a six page spread with For Him Magazine, FHM, but they decided to not re-touch my tattoos… The dude is a famous dutch tv-host *Sebastiaan Labrie*  Not only hot, but with tattoos and he was very open minded and interested in all my body mods… he liked my branding real much!

For more pictures from this shoot check out her IAM page, the BME/ Culture/ People gallery, or look for them in FHM Holland.

For one more showing off her chest tattoos, keep on keeping on.

Those crazy Brits!

I have no idea what this show is about, but it comes from the same country that finds Mr. Bean funny, so how can I expect to understand?

Anyhow blackroses sent me a message on IAM that said:

We have a show in england called snog marry avoid, tonight is the start of series 3 and i was surprised and delighted to find a fork tongued teacher!

She was kind enough to include a link to it on YouTube so I could share it with you guys.

UPDATE: My favorite nomad, Howie, shot me a message saying he was the artist who did the implants and tongue split and that the girl is kissitgoodbye.

Giving back.

Here is your chance to help someone else do some good. We received the following note from IAM member, Taryn:

I’ve entered myself into a contest to win a volunteering trip to Africa. I really, really love Africa and was able to travel there in February of 2009 where I spent four weeks in Tanzania as a volunteer teacher. I loved every moment of it and I’m dying to go back, but I simply can’t afford it. I was pretty excited when a friend told me about this contest so I entered right away. I entered around January 28th and voting had already started on January 3rd, but with some dedicated and extremely helpful friends I made it into the top 10 within two days! I have to stay in the Top 10 until February 7th at midnight in order to make it to the semifinals – at which point votes are re-set, and everyone must vote again like mad to get me into the Top 3. Then, a panel of judges decide who wins the trip. Voting is limited to one vote per email address; enter your address and then click the confirmation link in the email they send you. To vote for me, one may visit: votetaryn. I’ve also created a Facebook page that people may join to help spread the word, I post updates there as well and will send a reminder when (if) I make it into the Top 10 and votes have been reset for the semi-finals!

Let’s help Taryn win this so that she can help others. After all, it’s nice to be nice.

Pain Solution puts the art back into performance art

Here is a video sent from our friends in Pain Solution. These guys really have a great grasp on the performance art side of sideshow performance, and I hope everyone enjoys this video as much as I did.

PS: Thanks to Roo, for making this video into a format even I could figure out how to post.

Wow, is it almost Valentine’s Day again?

Apparently it is, according to every commercial on tv and radio, not to mention annoying internet pop ups. So what to do for V-day? That is the big question on everyones mind. You could just stick with the classic romantic candlelit dinner for two, right?

Well, this is BME you’re reading and BME people tend to bring a little bit of  body modification and body play into otherwise normal activities, so a classic romantic candlelit dinner may not be your style.

guesswhat

I am sure you can guess where this is going, so if you are on the tamer side of personalities, please keep scrolling down and look at the pretty flower tattoos posted below this. However, if you want to see a BME Hard version of a romantic candlelight dinner for two, keep on keeping on.

Recipe for a BME Hard style perfect Valentines Day.

Serve a fine meal, preferably something with meat so tender it only requires a fork.

1

Add in some romantic candle light to set the mood.

2

Renew the tie that binds you two together.

3

Then, when the evening couldn’t get any more perfect, go ahead and slip that perfect ring onto your lovers finger.

4

For more creative, romantic and adventurous ideas to help you celebrate Valentine’s Day or any other special occasion please feel free to check out BME Hard.

Where have all the flowers gone?

I thought the perfect way to chase away the winter blues and remind myself (and you) that Spring is around the corner would be with a series of flower tattoos. Who knows, maybe this year will be the year I finally get that flower tattoo I’ve wanted for roughly 15 years.

From The Vault: The T-bar Piercing

The T-bar piercing was introduced to most of the piercing world by Tom Brazda,  a man who has always been on of the smartest and most innovative body piercers in the world. Since then several other piercers have experimented with and have had success with these as well. So how crazy is it that the most recent picture in the T-bar piercing gallery is from 2005? Sure for some piercings, you can get similar results with microdermals, like this one I posted not too long ago. However, it’s not the same, nor are the jewelry options.

The two most common body parts to get T-bar piercings have always been the nipple and the tongue. Yet, that type of jewelry and piercing could be used for so much more as well. Obviously, the T-bar tongue, could prove extremely detrimental to a persons teeth, but the nipple T-bar is still a cool, technical and different piercing that is just as viable today. There is also ear lobes, genitals and other body parts that could have a whole range of different variations on standard piercings using this type of jewelry.

So piercers of the world, get creative, I would love to see some new T-bar pictures added to this old gallery in 2010.

Are these key rings implant grade metal?  Doubtful.

However it does show a different way to wear “jewelry” in a T-bar piercing.

nipple

Out of the pictures I posted this T-bar nipple seems to hold up the best by 2010 standards.

The Wong Fucking Person

Really in almost 10 years of being on IAM, never have I come across such a wonderfully clever user name.

He sent me a picture of his septum sans jewelry to use as a “guess what” entry. Unfortunately, once I cropped it down it was just too small to post. So I will give you guys the full picture instead.

For a picture of Mr. Wong with a helluva “mustache” via his 15mm septum, keep on keeping on.

I tell you what, it’s been a crap-tastic week for me and I hear we are expecting more snow, which makes it even worse. Luckily for me this picture of Michael Wong, along with that damn clever IAM name of his, can’t help but make me smile. I hope it has the same affect on you guys.
