Matthew’s March Mustache Madness Modblog

Try saying that 10 times fast!

If any man on IAM can inspire beard envy, it’s iam. matthew. Not only does he have a beard of epic proportions, but at the time of this picture, he had only 4 1/2 month of growth involved! As most of us know, no true beard is complete without a mustache (Sorry Abe Lincoln) and it is the killer swirl of hair upon his upper lip that has qualified him for this month’s special feature. The 1-3/8″ lobes, 12g medusa, 14g lip, and 10g nostril add to the qualifications.

If you can not grow a mustache, or for whatever reason you choose not to grow a mustache but you still want a way to add to you appearance, I suggest hitting up the 30% off sale on BMEshop! Use the coupon code “worldtour” to get 30% on EVERYTHING except for needles, punches and anesthetics. Everything else is on sale though from Tshirts to Prints and Books, DVD’s to every kind of jewelry we have in stock!

March Mustache Madness

To celebrate March Mustache Madness, I will be doing my best to feature as many modified people with stellar mustaches as possible this month. Ladies, you don’t need to feel left out, skip the upper lip waxing for a few weeks or sport a fake stache, either way, this is an equal opportunity feature.

To start things off we have this dapper young fellow with stretched lobes, 1/2″ side lip piercings and most importantly a mustache!

Tasty Tasty Tattoos

Once upon a time I was at work and got a ferocious craving for a corn dog. We searched all the local delivery joints and even the grocery store and not a single corn dog was to be found anywhere! To make sure I NEVER had to be without a corn dog again, I got one tattooed upon my shin that very night.

I doubt shahafpoint, being a vegetarian would ever get a tasty, tasty corn dog tattooed upon him, but his  corn schnitzel tattoo (by Snir Zelman in Israel) is damn cool none the less.

You may also remember his Tic Tac tattoo tribute to his grandmother, can we expect more tasty, tasty tattoos on him in the future?

For two more angles of the corn schnitzel tattoo, keep on keeping on.

BME Risk Update: Parenting and Stretching

The BME Risk section on BME is an invaluable source of information pertaining to the risk associated with various body mods. However, like all of the BME Wiki features, it is in need of some updating, and that is something any BME member can sign on and do.

Perhaps then, I should write an entry on the dangers of parenting and having body mods. As you can plainly see here, my 10 month old son, Sylas, has no problem yanking on my stretched lobes with all of his might.  He also likes grabbing the microdermal on my face, biting the subdermal on my hand and clawing at the already angry transdermals in my head.

So remember modbloggers, the pull out method only works if you actually pull out and kids are awesome, but they can be hell on body mods.

Where can I find a suspension group?

One of the most common questions on Ask BME has always been “where can I find a suspension group to help facilitate a suspension for me?”. Well, Allen, has taken that question and answered it as thoroughly as possible with this update of the Suspension Groups page on Suspension.org.

It’s genius in it’s simplicity and user friendliness. I simply clicked on the US, a hook icon appeared. I clicked it and it took me to a map of the US states. I clicked Virginia and then another hook icon appeared. I clicked it and voila my group, M.O.M Suspension, as well as my friends group, Homage, appeared.

It actually worked too well, because now I realize I really need to make a M.O.M website and get it online.

Anyhow, if you are looking for a group check it out. If you are in a group make sure your group is listed, if not fill out the application and if so, make sure all the information is correct. If you don’t see a group in your area, and you are interested in possibly starting one the forums are a great place to figure out what you would need to do so.

Voila! Non-modded Ala!

I am sure you guys remember Ala’s recent Modblog post, it was definitely one of the cooler and more controversial post I have had the honor or being able to post. Well in case anyone was wondering what Ala may have looked like sans modification a friend of hers has done some amazing photo editing to show just that as a school project.

Thanks again to Roo, aka “that creep guy” (according to one Modblog commenter) that has been stuck as the main image on BME’s main page during the transition to the new site lay out. After being a Modblog author for quite a while himself, he still takes the time to submit images and stories for me to post, and I truly appreciate it.

Remember when 2 inches seemed ridiculously huge?

I remember back in the early 21st century, when 1 inch ears seemed huge and 2 inch one’s were extremely rare.  Now it seems 2 inch ears are “common”, well at least in bod mod circles.People have also taken to stretching other piercings to 2 inches and beyond and this becomes more and more common in our little world.

Take for instance Gandy’s 2 inch transcrotal. Where most people choose to go front to back with their T/S’. Gandy chose to go sideways with his. This placement seems like a good idea to me, as it would appear to rest far more comfortably than the traditional transscrotals, that would bump into his thighs if stretched to this size.

Gandy had this to say about his transscrotal:

These are my balls, everything was done by Quentin at Kalima, Worthing, U.K. my transscrotal being the 1st, started at 20mm, and worked up to 2 inches, my goal size. The lower ones are 6mm and 4mm, and the top one is 1.6mm. I also made the jewellery for the transscrotal.

I know im hairy, so it would also wind up the people who choose to comment on everything other then the mod/s being posted, should be a giggle.

So all you body hair phobic Modbloggers, feel free to tell him to shave, he could use a good giggle.

PS: I’d like to thank, Gandy for emailing me this submission while BMEzine.com is being renovated (and therefore less updated) and remind the rest of you, if you have any suggestions for Modblog post, feel free to use the “email this author link” next to my photo below this post.

Digital be damned!

Analog is cool and I appreciate the art form, but when it comes to taking photographs on the go, digital is hard to beat. Speaking of photographs on the road, have you gotten your application (and video) in for the BME World Tour? If not, why not? Seriously, I am shocked how many people aren’t even trying for an amazing once in a life time chance like this! If I didn’t have a son, a wife,  a piercing business, and two incompetent apprentices to take care of, I would be making the best damn interview video possible and preparing myself for an amazing journey!
