Depth and Breadth and Height

I honestly don’t know what I like most about this photo of BobBert. Is it the great smile? The fancy newsboy cap? The discreet piercings shrouded by glorious facial shrubbery? (And, by extension, the opportunity to use my beloved hearty beards tag?) Maybe the fact that he’s beaming that grin because he’s about to get a Prince Albert piercing?

I’m going to say…all of the above. Is that allowed? Hey, I’m the editor here, you bet your ass it’s allowed.

Upon the Road

Hey, it’s Justinne, looking mighty sharp with that head of long, luscious ha—oh. Never mind. “Wearing my wig and dressed up nice,” she says, “hiding my shaved head to go job hunting.” If you’ll look after the jump, however, we have irrefutable evidence that she looks great with a shorn scalp as well. Everybody wins!

Sins of Fathers

Following up on last week’s various spider endeavors, Tye sends in these photos of his brother’s new Carnage tattoo, done by the great Lila Way at her own True Grit Tattoos in Burlington, Ontario. (The shop also houses familiar faces Greg Garrett, formerly of Way Cool Oakville, Franklin Reeves and Tom Brazda.) As for the tattoo, well, it’s expertly done, but isn’t it just begging to have that infernal symbiote bond with your precious lifeforce? Hey, priorities.

Tried By Fire

Hope you’ve been enjoying your Memorial Day, American ModBloggers. The sun is still out, so if you haven’t high-fived a military officer, downed a pitcher of margaritas or fallen asleep in a kiddie pool, there’s still time! If, however, you’ve resigned yourself to the fact that your blissful long weekend is over and it’s back to the acid mines first thing tomorrow, maybe the lovely Lesha will lift your lilting spirits. Almost everything you see there (minus the tattoo work) was done by the illustrious Steve Truitt at Stay Gold Tattoos in Albuquerque—the three forehead microdermals and star implant in her chest, at the very least.

The World Rocks Beneath

I would probably lose my mind with piercings so close to my eyeballs, but these “crow’s feet” piercings seem pretty well placed and out of the range of impeding movement or vision, so hey, as Scottie Pippen would say, I take my hands off to you. But what inspires a person to get her crow’s feet pierced?

Well, I woke up one morning and I asked my boyfriend, “What should we do today?” He replied, “Something really random,” so I suggested to get piercings done. Off we went to venture our decision to get piercings. He said I should get my crow’s feet done and he got his transverse lobe. Surprisingly, it really didn’t hurt.

The Color of Their Eyes Matches the Color of Our Blood

Good morning, ModBloggers! Hope the day finds you well. Let’s kick off the week with this fine ear project all the way from Kunming, Yunnan, China. I initially assumed the screws in the cartilage were some sort of custom jewelry, but, as the post-jump photo will show, those are some real screws. Probably not terribly comfortable for long-term wear, but if the structural integrity of your ear has been compromised? Can’t be too careful. Or something.

Everything is Untrue

I’ll confess that I was never much for Amen—more of a smooth jazz guy, personally—but it’s hard to argue with Maki‘s skin-removal scarification piece of the band’s frontman, Casey Chaos. It’s two months into the healing process here, so let’s hope it stays so well defined.

God Gets Stoned

Happy Memorial Saturday, America! What better way enjoy a long weekend than with, hmm, a tattoo of a platypus, nature’s most perfect killing machine? Hey, works for me. The lady above writes in:

So I went to the tattoo expo in Spokane, Washington, yesterday and my friend asked me when I was going to get a platypus on me. I’ve always wanted one. So he went up so this guy, and asked if he’d do a tattoo. Daniel, the artist, was super stoked to do it and drew it out that night. I went back today thinking for $100 I’d have a little wimpy platty drawn out…and instead he showed me this almost full page sketch! He’s an awesome guy and kicked butt at making an “old school” looking platypus. I’m in love with it. The end.

More shots after the jump? You bet your sweet duck-billed ass there are.

This Week in BME

It’s Memorial Day Weekend, ModBloggers! Everybody follow cfse33‘s lead! Wait, no, I meant everybody into the pool, not everybody get ladders of labial piercings. Although, hmm. Actually, do both.

That’ll be it for this week, folks. What went down around these parts?

The dead rose from their graves, or at least stuck their hands out. High-five?

We were introduced to this gorgeous collaborative backpiece.

We learned you can pierce a urethral reroute.

Charles Finnie offered up some lovely scars.

There is no hiding from Phish.

Seriously, the nutckle-duster made my week.

You know what happens next. A few posts over the weekend, a little grab-ass, maybe a fruity drink, and then back to normal first thing next week. Until then, enjoy the long weekend, Americans, stay safe, and, as always, thank you for your continued support of BME.
