Rows of Angel Hair

Hey, don’t be so hard on yourself! This Hole-inspired (probably?) piece is plenty pretty on the outside, too—though I guess you sort of expect that with a cutting (plus electro-cautery branding!) by the excellent Christiane at Pinpoint Piercing in Oslo, Norway. Also, wow, considering this is the inglorious Summer of Celebrity Death, is Courtney Love just hiding out in her panic room for days on end or what? Stay safe out there, famous crazies.

The Funk of Forty Thousand Years

When Andy sent in this zombie Michael Jackson tribute (?) portrait, it was accompanied with the ever-present, “Too soon?” Now, under normal circumstances, sure, getting a tattoo of a recently deceased celebrity as a hideous member of the walking dead may be in poor taste, but hey, Michael Jackson was arguably most famous for a video in which he appeared…as a zombie! If anything, this is how he would want to be memorialized! (Maybe not.) At any rate, our initial clinical reaction was, No, this isn’t too soon. Get yer MJ zombie on with impunity and a clear conscience, folks!

Oh, right, and then we noticed his right hand. You are going to Hell.

Power Beyond Imagination

You know what the grand irony here is? That lip tattoo is almost 900 years old. True story. Now, I’m not saying Technodeamon is definitely a Highlander, but…Technodeamon is definitely a Highlander. That said, immortal or not, the turquoise-shirt-and-zebra-tie ensemble is sure as hell doing it for me. Fresh, indeed.

It’s already Thursday, ModBloggers! Time flies when you’re looking at BattleDongs. But hey, we’ve both been very brave.

Yield to the Tongue

Whoa hey, fancy! New-to-BME Nadyne checks in with this “endless knot” scarification piece by Timb Wilton at Third Eye Tattoo in Melbourne, Australia. It’s brand new, she says, but she’ll send in more photos as the healing process continues. That’s what we like to hear, Nadyne! And, hey, Mr. Wilton, we like the cut of your jib, too. Fine work all around, folks. And, as luck would have it, we’ve got a procedural shot, after the jump.

Let’s Flail Together

Sweet fancy Moses, can you believe it’s been almost a year since we’ve featured the very lovely Kristina on our fair ModBlog? This is shameful and inexcusable. Here she is, taking a breather in Thailand, possibly, I don’t know, carefully inspecting a map just beyond the border of the image? Hey, why not.

You Can Always Find a Party

“Hey Ginsberg,” the commenters asked, “where are all the attractive Russian guys on ModBlog? Are you hoarding them for winter? Do you have them stored in Matrix-esque pods, allowing you to live off of the hearty nutrients extracted from their bodies? Have you locked them in your basement, chained to a pole, forced to turn a crank that heats and provides energy for your home, for all eternity?” These are half-truths at best! See? Here is the dashing Enigmified, healthy as can be, straight out of Moscow, Russia. Big lobes, bright tattoos, bedroom eyes—what’s not to like?

A Blue One and a Yellow One

Hello, ModBloggers! Let’s start the day off with this skin removal piece by Paulo Vitor, hanging out at Caos Body Art in sunny old Barra Bonita, Brazil, and, apparently, cheating at every game of Tic Tac Toe he possibly can. (More evidence after the jump.) Now, I’m not saying we need to question the integrity of body modification artists—not at all. Maybe just don’t turn your back on one during a game of strategy.

Welcome back, folks—we’ve got till noon, here comes the moon.

I Can’t Believe in the View

Well boy howdy, I can’t think of a better way to wrap things up today than with this outstanding backpiece-project worn by Barcelona’s own Lewis Dodd. It’s been two years in the making (by Kabra at Elektrikstrom Tattoo in Valencia, Spain), but now? Now it’s finished, and it is glorious. I’ve said it before, but because it’s so commonplace, I think it’s pretty easy to take for granted how great pieces like this can be—you see some traditional Japanese imagery and figure it’s just some flash off the wall or what have you—but this is just a pleasure to take in. More shots of the full suit, after the jump.

Night on the Sun

Well hey, it occurred to us that it’s been a minute since we’ve posted much in the way of suspension photography, but as luck would have it, the good folks of Poland’s Blissful Pain suspension team were apparently reading my thoughts or something and sent in this beautiful set of shots, some of which even feature our old friend Havve from Wings of Desire. Nothing particularly crazy here—just a lot of high-quality suspension shots, and hey, that’s good enough for us. More after the jump.

A Hundred Souls and a Hundred To Go

The last time we saw Cookie, we caught a glimpse of some of her 3D implants and scarification work, but, quite frankly, that was just the tip of the iceberg as far as her rather intense and extremely impressive body of modification work goes. The implants are (obviously?) by her husband, the illustrious Steve Haworth, tattoos by Nicole McCord, and the scar work you can see is by our favorite ubiquitous Australian, Wayde Dunn, at the Haworth Mod Spa in Phoenix, Arizona. More pictures, of course, after the jump.
