Memorable Coming Up

And now here is some grotesque pornography, starring the gentleman on the left, whose name I am prohibited by law to display in print, and Mike, on the right, who just got his first tattoos—the two of whom are celebrating this momentous occasion with a bottle of vodka. And grab-ass, apparently. Hooray!

This is Where You Fall Down

This great backpiece was done by Matt Cunnington at Westside Tattoo in Brisbane, Australia. If you don’t know who old frowny-face in the center is, that’d be Raijin, the mythological Japanese god of lightning and thunder, who, later in life, took starring roles (sometimes under his stage name, Raiden) in video games such as Mortal Kombat, Final Fantasy and several other things I just read on Wikipedia. A close-up of Raijin, after the jump.

Don’t Know If I Can

Well, this impressive. The ihung folks have been working with a gentleman named Ivan who conceived of this 25-foot-tall PVC-pipe dome structure, which is apparently based on some manner of sacred geometry forms, and have put it to use for suspension purposes. Rumor has it, they’ll be building an even bigger one this weekend at the Dallas SusCon. More photos, after the jump.

Set the Teeth

Ha, oh look, here’s a fine example of your common “tramp-stamp” tattoo! Note the flash tribal and poorly shaded Pisces symbol, all encased in…OK, I’m going to stop joking about this before that thing comes to life and bites the shit out of me. This excellent set of tiger eyes comes to us from Sean Karn at Fuzion Ink in Norfolk, Virginia.

The Relentless Pursuit

Good morning, ModBloggers! We kick the day off with this week’s installment of America’s most beloved literary journal, “Tuesday Morning Adorable Rodent Pictures”! Here we have a lovely purply girl and her two rats, Billy and Fabio. As well, maybe it’s just the delirium talking or mine eyes deceiving me, so correct me if I’m wrong, but her eyebrows are purple too, yes? Because I approve of that.

A Heavy Yoke

The ever-impressive Roland in Freiburg, Germany (more), sends in this excellent fresh cutting, done on a fella who appears to work out every now and then.

As well, we’ve had a few commenters note lately that they’d like to see more healed scarification work, so check back tomorrow to see an in-progress report on a cutting we’ve featured recently. You think you’re excited? Feel these nipples!

A Budding Morrow in Midnight

I really like this picture of some of the gents from Silas Body Art bouncing around on a triple spinning beam at the Galeria do Rock in Sao Paulo, Brazil—not just because it’s fun that all three have been caught in such different positions, but also because a three-person spinning beam is not the easiest thing to pull off!

Not Even Close to Fair

As the title suggests, I don’t suspect anybody will actually guess this one, which is fine—it’s such a nicely taken photo that the click-through is its own reward. If you do guess correctly, however, you will be sworn in as the president of a nation to be determined later. I think it’s a fair deal.

The Earth Beneath

It should come as no surprise that Steve, John and Wayde are the suppliers of (and inspirations for) these most graven of images. On Easter Monday, no less!

Says Steve:

Mr. Wayde Dunn-Dee himself did this amazing scar portrait on a friend of ours. We were hoping to find a fourth person she would agree to add on so he could do a Mt. Rushmore of Awesomeness, but sadly that didn’t work out.

I have to be honest—I’m a little surprised she went this far in the first place. That said though, we haven’t seen a ton of scarification portraits yet, but…these are pretty well executed. More photos, after the jump.
