Return the Salute

Good morning, ModBloggers! Hope this sunny first Monday of autumn finds you well. Let’s begin our week with a murderous zombie, identified by its wearer as “Bub” from George A. Romero’s 1985 romantic comedy Day of the Dead. “It may be corny,” she says, “but Bub is destined to win your heart over, and that is why I got him on me. Along with the fact that [Day of the Dead] is one of my favorite movies.” Hey, that’s good enough for us, folks. Really exquisite work here. And now…time for lunch.

This Week in BME

And finally, friends, we conclude our broadcast week with Sweden’s own Jhnah, who is upside down, maybe? No? Well then! We figure she’s got some “hair-raising” adventures planned for the weekend ahead! Right? Hair-raising? Because…guh. Never mind. Have a bonus photo as penance for my awfulness, after the jump.

And that’s it! What went on this week?

Lilli was attacked by some terrible chocolate monster. She will be missed.

Mindi impressed all with her handsome implants. Hand implants, that is.

It’s 3 O’Clock, how much fun are you having with your lobes?

Jackalope Number One.

We posted a really excellent interview with Bob Roberts that we’d love you to read if you haven’t already.

Right, and here’s a real dickhead.

We’ll poke around over the next couple days, but Monday is when things get going again for reals. Until then, folks, have fun, stay safe, vote for Candace and, as always, thank you for your continued support of BME. Shana Tova.

Garnished the Heavens

As many of you know, we try our damnedest here on ModBlog to not just feature scarification pieces in all of their stunning freshness, but also, when possible, to show the multiform and often unpredictable ways in which such projects can heal. Up above, we’ve got part of a serpentine skin-removal piece by Rion out of Deep Roots in Seattle, Washington, and this doesn’t quite look like it was scratched in there with a kitten’s claw—that deep middle section in particular looks designed to produce a hearty scar. After the jump, we see this gentleman’s back two months into the healing process, and a hearty scar it is.

It’s a little uneven in parts, but again, this is still relatively early as far as healing is concerned, and hey, we think it’s worthy of documentation either way in the interest of keeping track of scar progression. Hopefully more updates will follow.

We Have Each Other

Shepard Fairey, as we all know, is a retired professional wrestler from the former Soviet Union, and now works as a propagandist with the Obama administration (I just skimmed Wikipedia, that’s about right though, isn’t it?), but he is actually a pretty talented artist! Also, his work has been turned into tattoos once or twice before, and these have actually been of a pretty high quality for the most part. This particular sleeve, as we can see, is no exception whatsoever, and was done by Ryan Mason out of Scapegoat Tattoo in scenic Portland, Oregon.

A Haircut and a Shave

Oh Jesus Christ this is cute. Prolific ModBlog commenter Goldust of St. Petersburg, Russia, sends in this photo of his friend Alexander and the man’s son, Ivan—”two tough guys,” Goldust says. We don’t mean to over-share or anything, ModBloggers, but we’re pretty sure this picture just made us start ovulating.

So Convincingly Real

You folks are swell sometimes, you know that? After Twyla Sue showed up earlier in the week with his veritable cabinet of curiosities, Parker checks in with another jackalope tattoo? Two jackalope tattoos in one week, for reals? Is it our birthday? (It is not our birthday.) Except, of course, because Parker is not so much a human with flaws as she is a perfect being from somewhere among the cosmos, this is not just a jackalope, but a jackalope crossed with a goddamned owl, which, hey. In fact, this jaunty fellow is Fairfax, the jackalope owl, just hanging out and having a cup of peppermint tea. He likes long walks on the beach and arts and crafts involving nature.

And just like that, it’s Friday, ModBloggers, and there’s a knife on the floor.

One Way Or Another

So, we’ve featured Jusn (more) and Lilli (cupcake!) on here separately as of late, but, hey, it is a crime and an abomination to not show these kids off together. Sure, it’s not the same without someone’s dad being hoodwinked or some evil chocolate monster, but this is one handsome pair nonetheless. If you only let one photo on the internets melt your heart today, let it be this one.

Fleeing the Scene

Oh, hello, and welcome back to Syringe Week here on The ModBlog, your source for the finest in syringe-related photography! Yesterday, we featured Autopsy and his nurse, kindly reviving his ghostly, cadaverous body. Today, such a miraculous turnaround is not required, as our model simply requires a little more color, and her religion forbids the use of lipstick (probably). A fine alternative, indeed!

Get a Better Duty

One of our favorite sets of suspension photos that we’ve come across in the past belong to Nacho, who can be seen here, in all his white-striped glory. Well, good news! Nacho is back, as you can see above, just having a mid-air sit-down, possibly as a posture-healthy alternative to you typical office chair? Either way, he’s in the very capable hands of local sensation La Negra, and under the very capable photographic purview of Martin Del Pozo and his friend, Marco. After the jump, Nacho gets his knees cut down, plus video!

The Happiest Day of My Life

For his birthday present this year, Ralph’s parents gave him a choice: he could either get new jewelry for his two-inch lobe piercings, or he could get the expensive, experimental surgery to have the gigantic penis head removed from the top of his skull. After less deliberation than one might expect, Ralph chose the ear jewelry. He stands by his decision. So do we.
