A Heavy Yoke

The ever-impressive Roland in Freiburg, Germany (more), sends in this excellent fresh cutting, done on a fella who appears to work out every now and then.

As well, we’ve had a few commenters note lately that they’d like to see more healed scarification work, so check back tomorrow to see an in-progress report on a cutting we’ve featured recently. You think you’re excited? Feel these nipples!

The Earth Beneath

It should come as no surprise that Steve, John and Wayde are the suppliers of (and inspirations for) these most graven of images. On Easter Monday, no less!

Says Steve:

Mr. Wayde Dunn-Dee himself did this amazing scar portrait on a friend of ours. We were hoping to find a fourth person she would agree to add on so he could do a Mt. Rushmore of Awesomeness, but sadly that didn’t work out.

I have to be honest—I’m a little surprised she went this far in the first place. That said though, we haven’t seen a ton of scarification portraits yet, but…these are pretty well executed. More photos, after the jump.

Without a Porpoise

America’s favorite vagabond, Howie, who is no stranger to the ol’ ModBlog, checks in with this fancy fish cutting he did with his apprentice, Brendong. Howie said this cutting was performed “down under,” which I assume is a reference to either Australia or Hades, the abode of the dead. Hard to say.

Be Aggressive

Anders, who’s been featured on ModBlog several million times, checks in with these very nicely executed swallow scarifications. I say it often, but watching the vast, constant improvements in scarification is one of the great joys of being so immersed in this community. I think many of us were probably too young to witness the same sort of growth in the tattoo community, but scarification seems like the next frontier in a lot of ways.

A few more procedural shots, after the jump.

Clavicle Cuttings

I am not a squeamish person by nature, and having been around for BME for so long, I feel like I’m largely desensitized to acts of body modification that may squick out others, but my God, the thought of somebody cutting my clavicles gives me the heebiest of jeebies. These cuttings by Jen Minuti at Tattoo Angus in Manchester, New Hampshire, look fantastic, but I would rather be bored by a wild bull than have this done. Close-up shots of each side, after the jump.

Three Parts Optimist

In the last little while, we’ve featured tattoos covering scars and scars replacing tattoos, but I’m surprised we don’t see more of this—that is, tattoos augmenting healed scarification work. It’s a great effect, and I like that it requires a certain level of patience: the initial planning stages, waiting for the scarification to heal, and finally, adding the tattoo work. This piece comes to us from Azl and Cedric at Tatooatouage in Montreal, Quebec.

This Week in BME

And now, for your Friday night sex photo, is our returning champion Anna checks in with this lovely shot. Oh, winged things.

So, the week has come and gone. In case you missed it:

Pauly has a fleshy space parasite.

I still love nightmarish animal hybrid tattoos.

Hayley and Hayley showed off their twin poles.

Headmistress Rachel interviewed the gents from Fat City Reprise.

Frameset stretched out his nipples, just because.

And then Holly got some nipple microdermals. Everyone wins!

This Dali/Star Wars crossbreed was pretty much universally loved.

More scheduling conflicts, but I swear we’ve got at least one podcast coming up very soon, as well as another roundtable, more video … it’s a regular goddamn multimedia wonderland around here. That aside, we’ll be here over the weekend as per usual. Before I sign off for the night, I just want to mention that, while I rarely don’t allow comments through, I have no problem keeping something in moderation if it meets certain levels of vulgarity or off-topic-ness. You’re really not missing anything usually, but something just came through today and was too good to pass up. This, keep in mind, was made on the now-classic Skullboy post:

Jacoby Donovan

I LOVE CHRIS BROWN NO MATTER WHAT HE HAS EVER DONE OR EVER WILL DO BECAUSE IM HIS #1 FAN I LOVE U BABY WITH ALL MY

… and scene. Stay safe, everyone, enjoy the weekend and, as always, thank you for your continued support of BME.

Could You Milk Me?

Continuing this afternoon’s nipple extravaganza, Roger sends in these photos and explains in the classy third-person:

It all started with Roger and Holly pondering what they could do with nipple piercings that had not been done or seen before. Roger then remembered the T-bar and decided to do a new twist on it. With dermal anchors becoming popularized, and having mastered surface areas with them, he thought the nipple would be a new and exciting territory. Because Roger already pierced Holly’s nipples as we traditionally see them, he ventured into the T-bar look with dermal anchors posing as the top. They are two completely separate piercings, and the dermal anchor adds a classy and sophisticated personal touch. Never before done, he has awed us with his innovative imagination and successfully colored outside of the lines once again! This is a beautiful, creative addition to the other modifications he’s already done on Holly, including her lobes, septum, conch, nipples, vertical lip and ornate cutting on her hip.

Another shot, after the jump.
