Kissing A Mirror

Greetings, ModBloggers! Hope the weekend found you all well and safely out of reach of the raging death-bolts of any and all Armageddon-esque lightning storms. Let’s start our time back together with the calm, well, after the storm, I guess—this heart-stompingly sweet photo of Raldy and his and betrue‘s adorable new addition, Clara, spending some quality time together at home in São Paulo, Brazil.

And so begins another week together, dear readers. Let’s get off on the good foot. I’ll buy you a taco. If we’re lucky, we may even hit the city.

Always a Bloody Owl

Whoa hey, it’s Countess Grotesque, checking in with one hell of a hearty mohawk, among other lovely adornments! Those adornments being, of course, the various symbols and insignia tattooed on her head and neck, not to mention a (to my eyes) damn-near flawless make-up-and-jewel job. Also? Bright green fishnets. What’s that song again? “My Stockings Are So Bright I Gotta Wear Shades”? Something like that.

Oh, you’d like another picture? We’ve got you covered. Guess where to find it.

This Week in BME

Oh sweet holy shit. This is just…my God, man. The work (by Dustin Gray at AAA Tattoo in Rogers, Arkansas) is excellent—top o’ the scalp isn’t always an easy spot to get right—but this is about as terrifying as one could hope for. This gentleman has tried to grow his hair back, but this tattoo has scared his damn hair follicles shut. True story.

And just like that, dear readers, our week has reached its logical conclusion. What the hell just happened?

Brian Decker is slaying lately, and this hand/wrist/forearm cutting is just further evidence of the fact.

The Owl God made a triumphant appearance!

This gentleman was fortunate enough to survive his own autopsy, which is pretty rare.

Sidra won the 2009 BME Scholarship!

We instituted our moratorium on Michael Jackson tattoos, but went out with a bang.

It’s Log!

It’s Dong!

Massachusetts is going in the right direction with new regulations. Dallas is not.

And we’re off! Keep checking back all weekend for Alex’s dispatches from the 2009 Oslo SusCon and whatever other goodies we manage to dig up, and then come Monday it’s back to business as usual. Until then, have fun, stay safe and, as always, thank you for your continued support of BME.

The Reeds By The River

We’ve been really privileged to be able to feature so many great bodysuits (or otherwise large-scale tattoo projects) lately, and, while we sadly don’t have the full-body shots to go along here, this is some truly excellent work—especially for the top of the head! On the downside, he will surely never find a job. More shots of our silver fox here and his noggin adornments, after the jump.

A Bubble, A Shadow, A Drop of Dew

Good day, ladies and gentlemen! Let’s get the ball rolling with ModBlog royalty Ferdudurke (more, more, more), who is courageously checking in from the middle of, hmm, a terrible lightning storm? A lightsaber battle? Some sort of drug-fueled “rave” party that all the kids are going to these days? Whatever it is, we thank our friend from Moscow for having the decency to wait until he had grown that fancy mustache before checking in. Much obliged, good sir.

And just like that, ModBloggers, we’ve got ourselves a Tuesday. Hold me uptight, let me breathe now, etc.

Make It Dance

There was no information included with this photo, unfortunately, so we’re unable to pay proper tribute to this gentleman and the various ways in which he succeeds at being an outright bad-ass (or at least at wearing nicely done bad-ass tattoos). Fire, skulls and two sets of horns (although one looks more like a blade)? Hey, sometimes we’re easily impressed.

After the jump, another anonymous entry dealing with a serious medical condition we like to refer to as “Skullgina Dentata.”

Raise Your Entrails

Well well well, it’s been a solid month since we checked in with known idolator Adam and his gleefully evil throat, which, back then, was still mired in outline hell. Now, as we can see, it’s in full color and ready to, I don’t know, what do earthly manifestations of the devil do? Capsize a boat? Start a forest fire? Eat at Applebee’s? Yes, Adam’s satanic throat goat is going to be at Applebee’s if anyone needs it.

And because this piece just fits his face so well, it’d be a pity to not include a side shot, right? Right. You know where.

I’m Bloodshot For Sure

Well hey, look at that! It’s the always lovely (and controversial?) Lesha, checking in again—this time bottomless as opposed to last time’s toplessness. And…hey, what’s that on her stomach?

Ha ha, look at that! It’s this tremendous scarification portrait piece, a month into the ol’ healing process. Seems to be coming along nicely, but the question, as always, is how is the commentariat dealing with it? I’m going to say…hilariously.

A Promise More Precise

Good afternoon, ModBloggers! Let’s kick things off with the lovely Lyn who, judging by the X on her hand, is apparently fresh from a concert (or perhaps “the club”?). Beyond that, however, she’s sporting tattoo work by a fairly elite fraternity of artists—the sleeve we can see is by the excellent Rob Coutts, while her forehead dots were courtesy of Chris David, then of TCB and now at Sailor Jerry Swallow’s Olde Tyme Tattoo.

Hey, it’s Friday! This week is just about over, friends. Time to do the cockroach.

Humbug

The last time we saw The Enigma‘s facial cutting, the pictures were a little on the low-resolution side, but luckily, Scenester has swooped in with some nice bright shots of our blue friend getting some X’s cut out over his mouth. And, while you’re at it, there’s also a fine vantage point of his ears, implants and the X’s over his eyes. Another procedural image after the jump.
